London based newcomers Landshapes have outlined plans to release debut album 'Rambutan' later this year.
Bella Union is changing. Long regarded as a label with a predilection for our American cousins, the London based imprint have signed a slew of British acts. This year alone will see new material from Lanterns On The Lake and Money, with Landshapes set to follow suit.
A London centric four piece, the band caught attention last year with their single 'In Limbo'. Glistening, mature and extremely confident, it displayed a group of musicians who were rapidly coming to control their undoubted potential.
Debut album 'Rambutan' will be released on July 1st, with Ash Workman stepping in on production. Dan Blackett explains that the time each musician has spent together has helped foster a collective approach: "you start to absorb what you like and dislike, individually and collectively. Figuring out which direction you’re heading in via shared experience and foggy disparate influences. I think we’re still fine tuning that direction – and that’s good."
