Lana Del Rey, Quavo Tease New Collaboration

The internet is going into meltdown...

Lana Del Rey and Quavo has shared a teaser ahead of their upcoming collaboration.

The teaser was placed online a few hours ago, and it seems to point to a collaborative single. Lana Del Rey’s hushed vocals are – as ever – pristine, with the American artist intoning lyrics about a “diamond in the rough”.

Quavo’s enigmatic performance lingers in the shadows, with the teaser taking on a cinematic quality.

It’s a key moment for both artists. Lana Del Rey is widely expected to release a country album called ‘Lasso’ this year, recently commenting: “I went back and listened to ‘Ride’ and ‘Video Games’ and thought, you know they’re kind of country. Maybe the way ‘Video Games’ got remastered, they’re pop—but there’s something Americana about it for sure.”

Her spoken word take on ‘Take Me Home Country Roads’ seemed to indicate her direction of travel, but this collaboration is another unexpected twist. Lana has worked with rappers before, however, notably A$AP Rocky. Will this be a stand-alone single…? We guess all will be revealed shortly.

For his part, Quavo is on something of a role – his single ‘Mink’ was released earlier this summer through Quality Control, while the audio album ‘Rocket Power’ gained plaudits on its release last year.
