Lambchop have emerged from the shadows, with new album 'FLOTUS' set to drop on November 4th.
The record comes from a determined attempt to locate new ground, with Kurt Wagner deciding to write songs that his neighbours might listen to – inspired by pop, hip-hop and R&B.
He explains: “Overall, artists like myself have been using the same production techniques forever, letting technology enhance and further a sound but not really taking it to a new place. Technology bending to the will of the creator became playful, complex, and exciting to hear on repeat with a structure still open to interpretation.”
The title nods to the term First Lady Of The United States, but 'FLOTUS' actually stands for the rather poetic phrase: 'For Love Often Turns Us Still'.
18 minute new track 'The Hustle' has emerged online, apparently inspired by a wedding Kurt Wagner and his wife attended.
