Lala Salama’s ‘Summer Love’ Is An Ultra-Catchy Shoegaze Hymn

Get to know the Finnish risers...

Finland’s Lala Salama have shared new single ‘Summer Love’.

Out now, it follows a short flurry of self-released cuts, each displaying their potent use of melody amid swirling shoegaze effects. Snapped up by tastemaker imprint All That Plazz, new single ‘Summer Love’ could be their breakout moment, a dreamy slice of guitar pop with an impeccable chorus.

But first, some basic bio details. Singer and guitarist Rosa Jules leads from the front, alongside powerhouse rhythm section drummer Aliisa Keränen and bassist Santeri Hytönen (who are also in cult faves Bad Sauna).

‘Summer Love’ is an ode to carefree feeling, a flirtation piece of pop-edged infatuation that bursts out of the traps and then accelerates to the finish line. There’s a child-like sense of joy running through the song, with Lala Salama managing to encapsulate that feeling of pure blue skies, ice cream, and crushing hard on a Significant Other.

There’s much more to come, too – check out ‘Summer Love’ below.
