Electro pop outfit Ladytron are set to release a digital only album titled ‘Velocifero – Remixed And Rare’.
Ladytron have always trod the line between light and dark. The band’s music has found a home on the dancefloor, but their downbeat songwriting makes sense away from the bright lights of clubland.
Taking time off to work on material with Christina Aguilera – due later this year! – Ladytron have now confirmed details of a digital only remix album.
Released in 2008, ‘Velocifero’ marked a breakthrough for the band. Perhaps their most ‘pop’ effort yet, it found a renewed audience drawn by Ladytron’s slick live show and their back catalogue of gothic dance.
Winning warm reviews, singles such as ‘Runaway’ merged the band’s out there electronica with an unashamedly pop approach. Attracting a host of remixes, Ladytron have decided to collect some of the best.
Featuring each track from ‘Velocifero’ the new album spins Ladytron’s music into new directions. Opening with Toxic Avenger’s take on ‘Ghosts’ some of the material has never been released before.
Grey Ghost take on ‘Predict The Day’ in an exclusive for the new collection, with Vector Lovers, Kindle, Dirty Vegas Club and more taking part.
Due for release on April 6th Ladytron will precede the album with a new free download. Taken from the album, Grey Ghost’s version of ‘Predict The Day’ is available now via the band’s mailing list.
