The single actually leaked online some weeks ago, with fans promptly declaring it one of her best yet.
They've certainly got a point. 'Stupid Love' is steeped in disco bedlam, an overtly pop statement that recalls her breakthrough work on 'The Fame' and 'Born This Way'.
"All I ever wanted was love," she sings, as those undulating synths shudder beneath her feet.
Moving away from the proper music that adorned 'Joanne' and 'A Star Is Born', this new single feels like a pure, effervescent pop manifesto.
