Breakthrough pop duo La Roux are set to begin work on their second album over the Christmas holiday.
La Roux have been one of the year’s biggest success stories. Releasing a handful of limited edition releases in 2008, the electro pop duo broke through with the titanic success of ‘In For The Kill’.
Famously given a dubstep makeover by Skream, ‘In For The Kill’ became a sleeper hit eventually rising to the Top Ten. Turning singer Elly Jackson into an icon, the group released their self-titled debut album to massive success over the summer.
Now the singer has revealed that the duo are beginning to plan out their second album. Speaking to BBC 6Music the singer claimed that work would begin on the new material over the Christmas period.
“We’re going to stay in my manager’s house and use the quiet time to our advantage,” Elly Jackson revealed.
“Ben (Langmaid) and I have got a fairly clear idea of what we want to do but we haven’t actually started doing it yet so we don’t know how it’s going to sound.” Continuing, she said: “I think there will be a natural instrument or two on there though, which will make a change from the first record.”
However La Roux fans shouldn’t expect the finished record to drop anytime soon. “We’ve only got two weeks writing time between Christmas and the summer,” she explained.
“So unless we manage to write a record in two weeks I don’t think there will be anything in terms of a second record for a while.” She added.
