Kylie Minogue will receive the BRITs Global Icon Award at this year’s ceremony.
The Australian-born artist has been an icon in this country for decades now, remaining at the top of her game across successive albums. Last year saw Kylie storm back into the charts, with her single ‘Padam Padam’ becoming a true phenomenon.
As a result, the BRIT Awards have decided to honour Kylie once more – she will receive the coveted Global Icon Award at this year’s ceremony.
In a note, Kylie says…
“I am beyond thrilled to be honoured with the Global Icon Award and to be joining a roll call of such incredible artists. The UK has always been a home from home so the BRITs have a very special place in my heart. I have some amazing memories from the awards over the years and I can’t wait to be back on the BRITs stage. See you at The O2!”
Kylie will perform at the glitzy ceremony, a no-doubt spectacular appearance that immediately conjures memories of her 2002 show-stopper – re-visit that iconic moment below.
BRIT Awards 2024 takes place on March 2nd, broadcasting live from The O2 Arena in London on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player. This year’s hosts are Clara Amfo, Maya Jama and Roman Kemp; confirmed performers include Dua Lipa and RAYE, the latter of whom is nominated in seven different categories.
The winners of the genre awards will be determined by a public vote exclusively through Instagram, which opened midday Thursday (February 1st) and closes this coming Thursday (February 15th) at 6pm.
BRIT Awards 2024 takes place on March 2nd.
