Kyan has shared new two track single 'Nothing Beyond' b/w 'Like Summer'.
The songwriter's debut EP ‘The Purple Experiment’ arrived back in 2014, and since then he's cranked up millions of streams and worked with everyone from London Grammar to Duke Dumont.
Returning earlier this week with an intimate show, Kyan delivered a knockout one-two with his emphatic new single.
The two songs seem to bookend a two year period in his life, falling out of love with the major label structure and then re-building what it is that he does.
Kyan says…
“I wrote it after a major record deal came to an end and a long term relationship crumbled within the 24 hours. All of the sign posts to who I am and what I was about were suddenly taken away. It was like I had been dropped in the middle of a post apocalyptic desert, left to figure out how to survive and how to find direction again…”
“On the flip side, ‘Like Summer’ was me finally waking up from what felt like a two year sleep, so it’s a very special song for me. It feels good to be able to tell my truth whilst also being able to show other people that even from that dark place there can always be a way out.”
