Rising producer Kwes is streaming new cut ‘Bashful’ taken from his upcoming EP.
Still young, Kwes already has a wealth of experience. The producer has been involved in numerous projects, with Damon Albarn even flying him out to the DR Congo alongside a motley crew of musicians last year.
Now signed to Warp, Kwes fuses avant electronics with flickers of African music, pop and more. Describing his output as ‘Free Pop’ here’s a quick quote: “A philosophy of creating popular music that knows no boundaries, shuns no eccentricity and values inventiveness over any kind of rules that have gone before”.
Upcoming EP ‘Meantime’ is the first fruits of his labour to emerge on Warp. Set to be released on April 30th, here’s the tracklisting:
