Knox Brown spent his childhood in Jamaica, absorbing the colourful community Kingston has to offer.

Travelling to Birmingham with his family when still a kid, he spent his teens flitting between the Midlands and London, adjusting to life in a different country as he began focussing on his identity.

Music was key at every juncture. Developing a potent R&B sound, he fused an awareness of the UK with a clear love for Stateside greats, while his Caribbean heritage lingers in the background.

New single 'Flex' is absolutely divine, the perfect fusion of these influences while adding a little bit more besides.

From the ultra-smooth vocal to that slight sense of grit in the arrangement, 'Flex' is the perfect late summer hymn.

He comments: "'Flex' is about being carefree and being able to show off for once without any repercussions or judgements. Based on society's ideals and how social media has affected the way we live. After working hard for years and finally being in a position to be able to live that 'Flex’ life you have seen on TV and in people whilst growing up as a young boy in Jamaica and England…"
