London beat team Kit Sebastian have shared new song ‘Enkaz’.
The group’s ace album ‘New Internationale’ was released earlier this year, an outer national patchwork of beautifully lucid samples.
Since then, the creativity has continued, with Kit Sebastian matching live shows and DJ sets against continued studio curiosity.
Out now, ‘Enkaz’ was prompted by the loss of Merve’s grandfather, an experience that saw her attempting to use music as a means to ground herself.
The arrangement is a homage to the work of two Egyptian greats: Umm Kulthum and AbdelHalim Hafez, particularly their orchestras. A three-dimensional journey into sound, Kit Sebastian comment…
“Enkaz was recorded directly onto a 1/4″ tape on a Fostex machine. It has a rougher, less polished sound to our last album, with instruments being pushed into the red on mixers and tape machines.”
Tune in now.
