Scottish-born pop riser Kirsty Grant has shared new single ‘Wish On Me’.
Raised in the Scottish country town of Kirriemuir – birthplace of Peter Pan creator JM Barrie, y’know – she’s since relocated to London, chasing her pop dream. Debut EP ‘Chain Reaction’ landed in 2021, signalling the arrival of a deeply independent talent.
Since then, Kirsty has taken time to finesse her sound, working out fresh ways to approach music. ‘Outerbody’ signalled her return in January, with Kirsty Grant now sharing all-new single ‘Wish On Me’.
The dreamy atmosphere is offset by the assured vocal, with ‘Wish On Me’ spinning the Scottish-born riser in a new direction. She comments…
‘Wish On Me’, I wanted to lean into the Disney elements as much as possible, as the song itself feels like it encapsulates the child-like/dream state of having a crush. The idea behind the title was longing for a person to like you back, and for them to take a chance and “wish on me”.
Tune in now.
