Kinny Album Release Confirmed

Debut full length due

Opera singer turned modern soul diva Kinny has confirmed her debut album ‘Idle Forest Of Chit Chat’ will be released on March 23rd.

Signed to Brighton’s legendary house of soul Tru Thoughts, Kinny began life as an opera singer in Canada before deciding on a different path. Ditching her Three Tenors for the Three Degrees, Kinny set about fashioning a unique soul voice.

Using freeform improvisation extensively, Kinny’s style is more jazz based than many of her retro soul contemporaries.

Using a total of seven producers on her debut album has allowed her to confront many different styles, but Kinny’s fierce individual streak has prevented her from losing touch with her central message.

From the tropical, live funk of The Quantic Soul Orchestra and Nostalgia 77’s deep modern jazz, Kinny has worked with some of the top producers around, giving her album a flavour of the funk and soul scene as it stands at the moment.

Kinny’s previous work attracted some fans in high places. Massive Attack’s Daddy G invited her to audition to work with the group, while she is currently recording with none other than Andy Smith.

Fans may already be familiar with her previous single ‘Enough Said’ a stunning blast of dancefloor action featuring the inimitable Quantic Soul Orchestra.

Kinny releases her debut album ‘Idle Forest Of Chit Chat’ on March 23rd.
