Southern indie rock icons Kings Of Leon are set to perform on this week’s edition of US TV show Saturday Night Live, it has been announced.
The show, presented from New York by James Franco, has been a launching pad for countless careers and will hopefully propel the band to greater things Stateside. Although they are capable of filling massive venues in the UK, as well as claiming their first number one with “Sex On Fire”, Kings Of Leon are less well known in their homeland.
The highly coveted slot comes as the group prepare to release new album “Only By The Night” next week. Kings Of Leon will warm up for their new North American tour with a tiny show at Webster Hall, New York on September 23rd – the day “Only by The Night” is released in the US.
The tour begins on October 11th, and can boast support from We Are Scientists, The Whigs and The Stills.
