Kings Of Leon are set to smash into the charts at number one after enjoying enormous first day sales.
With their 2008 album ‘Only By The Night’ Kings Of Leon established themselves as one of the country’s favourite bands. The Followills scored massive hit singles, with ‘Sex On Fire’ becoming a bona fide festival anthem.
The album remains a strong seller, notching up almost an entire year in the Top 40. Playing a huge show at Hyde Park earlier this year, Kings Of Leon retreated to work on a potential follow up.
Surprising fans with the quickness of their comeback, the Followills completed a new album with remarkable ease. ‘Come Around Sundown’ was announced last month, with huge anticipation amongst fans.
Lead single ‘Radioactive’ broke last month, with the album being released on Monday (October 18th). Critical reception has been mixed, with Kings Of Leon consolidating the advances they made with ‘Only By The Night’.

Kings Of Leon released ‘Come Around Sundown’ earlier this week, and are odds on to finish at number one. The album has enjoyed stunning first day sales, shifting in excess of 75,000 copies in the opening day alone.
Dwarfing all other releases, Robbie Williams looks set to slip to number two with his greatest hits collection. Elsewhere, The Beatles are due to re-enter the Top Ten with their ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ sets.
Covering the two periods of their career, the box sets mix classic singles with lesser heard album tracks. Important entities in their own right, the ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ albums were spruced up in Abbey Road last year.
