Southern gentlemen and full time rock stars Kings Of Leon are currently locked in a tight chart battle with faux-lesbian Katy Perry for pole position in the UK singles charts.
The first single taken from their new album, “Sex On Fire” is a stunning comeback by Kings Of Leon. A reminder of what made us fall in love with them in the first place, the single is nonetheless a step up for the band who have played a series of stunning festival dates this summer, including a prestigious slot at Glastonbury.
Katy Perry, meanwhile, has been occupying the number one slot for the past five weeks with her ever-so-naughty single “I Kissed A Girl”. The filthiest slice of pop since Tatu scaled the charts with “All The Things She Said”, it has been a pop sensation.
As things currently stand Kings Of Leon are 2000 copies ahead of Katy Perry, but that could all change once the all important Saturday sales are added.
With Glasvegas and Metallica battling to the death (almost) in the albums, the chart countdown has rarely been this exciting!
