Kings Of Leon Scoop Brit Double

American group win big

Southern indie giants Kings Of Leon won two major awards in addition to performing at last night’s Brit Award ceremony at Earl’s Court, London.

Kings Of Leon have leaped headfirst into the world of stadium tours. Last year’s album ‘Only By The Night’ is still riding high in the charts, while single ‘Sex On Fire’ has become an anthem across the nation.

The band have already been confirmed to play slots at the Oxegen and T In The Park festivals.

Marking the band’s first major intrusion onto the American charts, the album helped the band bag two major awards. Kings Of Leon won ‘Best International Album’ at the ceremony, while also picking up ‘Best International Group’.

The band were presented their trophy by undefeated boxer Joe Calzaghe, while lead singer Caleb Followill claimed England made the band.

“If it weren’t for England, Kings Of Leon wouldn’t be a band right now,” he said. “You created Kings Of Leon, and good luck getting rid of us!”

Kings Of Leon beat off competition from AC/DC, Fleet Foxes, The Killers and MGMT to scoop ‘Best International Album’.
