Kings Of Leon Retain Number One Slot

'Come Around Sundown' at pole position

Kings Of Leon have retained the number one slot with their new album ‘Come Around Sundown’.

Set to take a break after a lengthy spell of touring, Kings Of Leon surprised fans with their new album ‘Come Around Sundown’. Recorded at breakneck speed this summer, it moves the band on from the success of ‘Only By The Night’.

Released last week, ‘Come Around Sundown’ posted enormous first day sales. Kings Of Leon soared to the top of the charts and stayed their, totally overshadowing the competition in the Top Ten countdown.

Much more than a one week wonder, ‘Come Around Sundown’ has now retained the number one spot. The Followills beat off some stiff competition, with the album finding a place in thousands of homes across the UK.

Set to tour the UK next summer, Kings Of Leon are toasting another week at number one. Coming in at second is Michael Buble, whose new album ‘Crazy Love’ has pushed its way to number two.

Elsewhere, former X Factor winner Joe McElderry sits at number three with his debut album, while The Wanted trail at four.

Robbie Williams falls to number five, but no doubt his attention is on the already sold out Take That tour. Other new entries include The Soldiers and a new Barbra Striesand collection. Duck Sauce anyone?

Further down the charts, The Beatles ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ collections slid out of the Top Ten. Perched at sixteen and seventeen, the compilations mix hit singles with album material acting as a superb introduction to the group.

The current UK Top Ten albums are:

1. Kings Of Leon – Come Around Sundown
2. Michael Buble – Crazy Love
3. Joe McElderry – Wide Awake
4. The Wanted – The Wanted
5. Robbie Williams – In And Out Of Consciousness
6. Taylor Swift – Speak Now
7. Tinie Tempah – Disc-Overy
8. Barbra Steisand – The Ultimate Collection
9. Katy Perry – Teenage Dream
10. The Soldiers – Letters Home
