Kings Of Leon Plectrum Auction

Fans scramble to buy memento

A new auction has seen signed plectrums from the likes of Kings Of Leon and more go under the hammer.

The trusty plectrum is one of the most important artefacts in rock. Sure, some guitar players might prefer using their fingers but to craft that trademark squeal nothing less than an inch long piece of plastic will do.

Music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins teamed up with Ben Sherman recently to offer fans the chance to purchase a special souvenir. A host of bands agreed to sign a plectrum, which was then auctioned online.

In one week the charity managed to raise £3456 – a spectacular result that will no doubt change a few lives for the better!

Top of the charts were Kings Of Leon. The Southern indie giants are preparing to release a new DVD, to placate fans during their time away in the recording studio.

The Followills autographed a plectrum and donated the pick to the auction, sparking furious bidding between fans. Reaching a total of £549 the plectrum was the best selling in the first batch.

Runners up spot went to Ryan Adams. The country troubadour donated a pick to the auction which sold for £390.

Guitar icon Johnny Marr also lend a hand to the charity, with his plectrum selling for £320. Amongst the other plectrums donated belonged to Good Charlotte, Kaiser Chiefs, The Fratellis and Klaxons.

Continuing for a second week, the current top seller are American industrial giants Nine Inch Nails. For more details on the auction click HERE!
