King Isis has shared their new single ‘Make It Up’.
The California raised artist impressed earlier this year, melding alt-pop with crunching indie tropes on debut EP ‘Scales’. Displaying a vivid, colourful songwriting identity, King Isis takes this to the next level on this new release.
Out now, ‘Make It Up’ feels just right for the season – tinted in black, King Isis purposefully takes their music in a darker direction.
At times almost gothic, ‘Make It Up’ still hits home as a terrific pop song, surging to that emphatic chorus. A performance of daring and drama, it’s a treat for the Hallowe’en season – with a vampire-themed video to boot, courtesy of film maker Daddy.
King Isis comments…
“I wrote the first version of this song at home in Oakland, going through lows in love and life. I was experimenting with darker production and more droney melodies, which I felt encompassed the monotonous feeling of just getting through the motions that was my life at the time.”
Tune in now.
