Killers / Pet Shop Boys Collaboration

Christmas Single Nearly Ready

Las Vegas glamorous indie icons The Killers have teamed with Pet Shop Boys singer Neil Tennant on their new Christmas single, it has been reported.

The band were in the studio recording the single when they came up against a creative wall. Killers’ singer Brandon Flowers told Channel 4 teletext service Planet Sound that the Pet Shop Boys singer intervened when the band reached an impasse in the studio.

“We’d hit a block, and Neil came upstairs. Within moments, he came up with a great line about ‘Going to the carpenter’s shop’,” Flowers said.

The track is called ‘Joseph Better Me Than You’ and already features a guest appearance from ivory tinkler Elton John. The Killers have released Christmas singles previously, with their previous two ‘A Great Big Sled’ and ‘Don’t Shoot Me Santa’ being download only efforts.

The Killers new album ‘Day And Age’ is released on November 24th. The current issue of Clash Magazine has a sensational new interview with the band discussing the album’s origins.
