Las Vegas indie icons The Killers have spoken out on their upcoming album ‘Day And Age’ claiming that it retains their distinctive sound, despite including new instruments.
The Killers are the current cover stars for this month’s sterling edition of the award winning Clash Magazine. The band have been busy of late, playing a surprise slot at the Mencap Little Noise Sessions in support of Scottish group Glasvegas.
Bassist Mark Stoermer told the BBC that the inclusion of new instruments wouldn’t confuse the band’s fans. “We are at a place where our fans won’t be too surprised and we have shown them that we have a wide range in terms of what we do,” he said.
“We’re always trying new things like the saxophone and we always approach each new song with a different attitude.
“If we feel we need to try something on a song we go for it. We don’t just do those things for the hell of it.
“This album again is all over the place but fans that have been with us for the last couple of albums will get it.”
The Killers release new album ‘Day And Age’ on November 23rd.
