Killers, Keane And More Unite

Introducing... Mt Desolation

A new indie-folk supergroup has been formed with members of The Killers, Keane and more pooling their talents.

With the economy only recently moving out of recession, musicians are still pooling their talents. Supergroups remain in vogue, with new band Mt Desolation featuring some very familiar faces.

On drums, the group boast Ronnie Vannucci of The Killers. Meanwhile London indie-folk pair Tom Hobden (Noah And The Whale) and Winston Marshall (Mumford And Sons) are also heavily involved.

Completing the line up are Keane pair Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin, with Mt Desolation putting the finishing touches on their new album.

Based in London, the group have recorded a batch of country songs. Producer Emery Dobyns was at the controls, with the debut album from Mt Desolation set to be released later this summer.

The band’s blog reveals that Mt Desolation formed after a drunken night in Dublin. “And so on one such blustery and cold night in September two friends, Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin decided (whilst in wildly animated conversation about music and probably also well on their way to needing a taxi home) that they would make a country album.”

“Enlisting the help of friends from various other bands the newly formed group went into Eastcote studios in London at the snowy start of this year. With production wizard Emery Dobyns patiently manning the controls, the idea was to record as much of the album live as possible, in true country style.”

Mt Desolation are set to play the following one off show:
