Kenny Allstar has launched his latest mixtape, ‘The Future’s Yesterday’.

For nearly a decade, the south-east London rap figure has cemented himself as a pillar of the underground, shaping and propelling the landscape across fresh ears.

This time around, the self-proclaimed ‘Voice of the Streets’ ventures into the alt-rap scene, illustrating its innovative, DIY approach through a number of stellar appearances from AntsLive, Ashbeck, BXKS, Blanco and more. On the one hand, tracks like ‘Chop This Life’ spotlight the charismatic bravado of Bawo and Sam Wise, elevating their natural chemistry over a playful trap production. Elsewhere, ‘We’re Online’ invites the jagged, husky flows of Stockwell-born rapper Len, whereas ‘Hypocritical’ brings forward viral rhymer 5EB.

First spinning tracks between pirate radio stations, Kenny Allstar now helms a weekly BBC Radio 1 Rap Show that brings together the highest number of young listeners across the broadcasting platform. A conduit for nascent talent, ’The Future’s Yesterday’ continues to assert Allstar’s strengths as a curator, a mentor and beyond.
