Quiet, unassuming piano tinklers Keane have become unlikely record breakers after their track “Spiralling” was downloaded over 500,000 times.
The group are on the comeback trail and made “Spiralling” available as a free download on August 4th. Little over a week later, more than a half million people have taken the band up on their offer, becoming the most successful free download ever offered by the band’s label Universal / Island.
As well as being a download success, “Spiralling” also sits at number one on the airplay charts. The track is taken from Keane’s new album “Perfect Symmetry”, due to be released on October 13th.
The album will be trailed by Keane’s comeback single “The Lovers Are Losing”, due to be released on October 6th.
