Kay Young Charms With ‘The Way You Look At Me’

Her new EP is incoming...

Kay Young has shared her new song ‘The Way You Look At Me’.

The London based artist is a true multi-genre talent, drawing on a palette of soul, hip-hop, electronics, and more. Jay Electronica was an early supporter, and her divine EP ‘This Here Feels Good’ landed back in 2021.

A breakout star from Blue Note’s excellent ‘Re:Imagined II’ compilation, she re-tooled Marlena Shaw’s majestic ‘Feel Like Making Love’ in her own image.

A further EP is incoming, with soulful bumper ‘The Way You Look At Me’ online now. The visuals have a strong Soul Train vibe, and that’s only appropriate with Kay Young tapping into her love for vintage soul and funk.

Everyone from Kool & The Gang to Marvin Gaye seem to crop up as reference points, but it all coalesces into that stellar vocal, speaking so eloquently about love, connection, and longing.

Tune in now.
