Kathryn Joseph will release a new remix EP in January.
The Scottish songwriter is a truly special talent, and her album ‘for you who are the wronged’ touched us on a very deep level. Produced alongside Lomond Campbell, the studio figure takes the helm for a new remix EP.
Set to be released on January 19th, ‘for you who are the wronged (lomond campbell remixes)’ casts another light on her songwriting. Lomond Campbell, too, has something special – his solo catalogue is deeply experimental, but always fascinating, embodying a very visual sense of how sound should be created.
‘until the truth of you (lomond campbell remix)’ is the second insight into this new remix EP, with Kathryn commenting:
“I love that Lomond has changed this track from being a damaged creature mostly accepting its fate into a defiant 80’s banger that is absolutely raging, and not in any way about to let any abuser get away with any of their harm. I love it. I love Lomond Campbell. He is the best. He is the only one who makes me cry and dance. I am very f***ing lucky.”
Lomond Campbell adds: “When I first heard Kathryn’s voice-note phone recording of ‘until the truth of you’ I imagined us working the track up into a barbed pop banger, mainly because it was fiercely catchy. We went in a different direction with the album though, so this remix offered up the opportunity to show how Kathryn’s formidable songs can be totally reframed but still cut right through and get to the point. Kathryn is the best.“
Tune in now.
