Singer Kate Nash has begun work on her currently un-titled second album.
Kate Nash broke through to the public imagination with the love it or loathe it single ‘Caroline Is Victim’. Spawning some extreme reactions, it also prompted a spoof record ‘LDN Is A Victim’.
Hitting back with the single ‘Foundations’, Nash’s acerbic lyrics and wonderful grasp of melody marked her out as a highly promising young songwriter.
Debut album ‘Made Of Bricks’ was released in 2007 to widespread acclaim. Since then Nash has devoted herself to touring but has made time recently to write new material.
“I’ve done a bunch of demos,” Nash told the BBC.
“I’ve got about 14 to 16 songs recorded and I’m going to do another session at the end of the month.”
Nash revealed that she has not finalised a producer to help finish the album. Claiming that her new songs follow in a heavier vein than her debut album, the singer claimed “it’s different and it’s fun to be doing something new.”
There is no set release date for the new Kate Nash album.
