Kassian Announce New EP ‘Supercontinent’

Listen to new single 'Yena'...

London outfit Kassian have announced their second EP for !K7, ‘Supercontinent’ due for released on May 24th.

Kassian is comprised of Warren Cummings and Joe Danvers, who’s cross-disciplinary world encompasses techno, bass, electronica and elements of house. Following last year’s ‘Phase Two’ EP, they return with ‘Supercontinent’, a collage of rhythmic ideas inspired by Amapiano and Baile Funk. The EP was born from experiments in a new hardware-forward studio in Northeast London where they have been experimenting with interlinking various machines.

On ‘Supercontinent’, the pair “examine and deconstruct dancefloor material, exchanging a 4/4 rhythm for interlocking shaker patterns, searing acid lines, cracking breakbeats, and vocal samples in Zulu and Brazilian Portuguese.”

As a prelude to the EP, Kassian have shared new single ‘Yena’, which you can preview below.

Since joining forces in 2019, Kassian have released myriad projects on labels such as Heist, Phonica Records and Shall Not Fade, alongside running their own imprint Faux Poly in 2022 where they have put out four of their own.
