First headliners announced

The organisers of T In The Park have confirmed that Leicester indie giants Kasabian are set to headline 2010's instalment.

When T In The Park was founded 15 years ago, few people expected the festival to success. Located in a remote corner of Scotland, the event was predicted to be a disaster with ticket sales proving to be sluggish.

Now, however, T In The Park has established itself as one of Europe's top events. Pushing forwards each year it now reaches a capacity of 80,000 people with top acts flocking to the site every year.

This summer's event was an enormous success with Kings Of Leon, Blur, The Killers and more playing memorable sets. As ever, T In The Park looked after up and coming talent with the legendary T Break stage sitting in the middle of the action.

The festival is set to return next year with a host of top names. Tickets for the 2010 event are due to go on sale tomorrow (December 4th) at this year's prices, frozen amid the winter chill.

Organisers have confirmed the first headliners for the 2010 event: Kasabian.

During a show at the SECC in Glasgow this year singer Tom Meighan asked the crowd "who wants to see us at T in the Park next year?”. Now both band and crowd have their wish with Kasabian set to headline in 2010.

In a statement Tom Meighan explained: T in the Park holds a special place in our hearts, we've always said how much we'd love to headline it and now we are. We can't wait, we're going to play a blinder and it's going to be massive for us and for the crowd.”

T In The Park is set to take place between July 9th - 11th.
