Karmacoda’s ‘Time’ Gets Remixed By Birds Of The West

A spacious and airy re-working...

Karmacoda have been remixed by Birds Of The West.

The three-piece will release new song ‘Time’ shortly, a drifting piece of beats-laden digi-soul both rich in atmosphere and melody. The group blend different skills, and aesthetic aspects – Jessica Ford’s dulcet vocals intermingle with Brett Crockett’s production, while Japanese-American multi-instrumentalist Eric Matsuno adds disparate elements.

Out soon – pre-save it on streaming – ‘Time’ is built on beatific use of layers, with guest producer Birds Of The West gently taking these apart for his new remix.

A slomo re-contextualising of Karmacoda’s approach, his take on ‘Time’ seems to find fresh space in their work. Reminiscent of Bonobo in places, it’s an airy, drifting piece of melody-flecked electronics, equally absorbing and fulfilling.

The producer comments…

“It was fun to remix this track for Karmacoda, I like to strip back a track to its essence and then re-build it from there, using my own sonic color palette to draw with. The vocal hook about time is poignant as we live in a day and age of never feeling like we have enough time so I enjoyed juxtaposing that with a really relaxed and slowed down feel in the track.”

Tune in now.
