Karen Nyame KG’s ‘Red’ EP Is A Three-Part Mover

Deeply contagious club electronics...

Karen Nyame KG has shared her new ‘Red’ EP in full.

The British-Ghanaian artist is making power moves, operating her newly launched label, Rhythm in the City. A platform for her Afro-electronic vision, Karen Nyame KG leads from the front, sharing a string of essential cuts.

New EP ‘Red’ is out now in full, blending Afro-house with highlife, R&B and more, all blended into her own inimitable elixir. Word is out, too – Karen Nyame KG is continually in demand, and hits London’s Basing House on November 24th.

A bold, vivacious three-tracker, the EP is completed by new song ‘Wet’ with its propulsive yet exacting rhythms and breathy vocals. ‘Wet’ is “naughty,” she says, before adding:

“Pretty much what it says on the tin, the allure of your love interest consuming you so much that it excites you, despite them being dangerous! It’s a sweet and seductive uptempo Afro groove, sampling my previous work ‘Sensei’, layered with Ghanaian Highlife riffs supplied by Obe380. ‘Wet’ is a melodic earworm.”
