US hip hop don Kanye West is set to make a guest appearance in an episode of new Family Guy spin off The Cleveland Show.
Kanye West has been busy of late, touring the world, teaming up with Paris fashion house Louis Vuitton and leaking other people’s albums. Frequent readers of West’s blog would have gained unreleased material by Peter, Bjorn And John and Yeah Yeah Yeahs in recent months, as the rapper excitedly tells the world about new albums by those groups.
However the best could be yet to come – Kanye West is to star in new TV cartoon The Cleveland Show. Executive producer Mike Henry claims he contacted the rapper after finding out he was a massive Family Guy fan.
“We knew Kanye was a big Family Guy fan because he invited (creator) Seth (MacFarlane) to his house a year or two ago,” Henry told People.
Apparently West became involved in the creative process quite quickly.
“Before we came to the table … there was only one line he didn’t love, and he came up with another idea and in a completely modest, nice way said, ‘Would you mind if I changed just this one line?'” Appel said.
“And our feeling was, how many raps have we written? One? And how many has he written? Be our guest.”
The Cleveland Show airs in Autumn, the episode featuring Kanye West will hit US TV in early 2010.
