Kanye West To Open Later… With Jools Holland

As new series dawns...

Kanye West is set to help open the new series of Later… With Jools Holland.

Love it or loathe it, Later… remains just about the only prime time television show dedicated to music left on British airwaves.

A perennial talking point, this time round Jools Holland is set to open with a genuine hip hop icon. Kings of Leon will take part, while the audience will also be treated to performances from Sting and Bill Medley – best known as one half of The Righteous Brothers.

However the main focal point will undoubtedly be Kanye West. The rapper hasn't toured for almost four years, while a recent set on Saturday Night Live introduced fans to uncompromising new album 'Yeezus'.

The opening show of the series goes out on September 17th, with a longer edit set to follow on September 20th. Other guests confirmed for the series include Queens of the Stone Age, chart topping deep house duo Disclosure, Miguel, Smiths icon Johnny Marr and Haim.
