Kanye West Sued By Suge Knight

Death Row boss was shot at party

Kanye West is to appear in court later this year over a shooting which took place at a party he hosted in 2005.

Death Row Records boss and Hip-Hop mogul Marion ‘Suge’ Knight is claiming over one million dollars(£660,000) in damages after he was shot in the leg at one of Kanye West’s Miami parties.

Knight, who has been imprisoned himself on numerous occasions, maintains that adequate security was not provided by the artist and producer at the party held before the MTV awards in August ’05.

In a quote issued by Knight’s representative Marc Bower on court paper he stated: “He had an expectation of security there. How someone came with a gun into a very VIP party, that just doesn’t meet the smell test in life.”

Marion Knight is also claiming compensation for a diamond earring lost at the party to the tune of £135,000(£89,000). He maintains that he personally paid over $200,000(£132,000) in medical bills to fix a shattered femur after the incident.

This is not the first time that Kanye West has been trouble with the law. In 2008 the ‘Stronger’ singer and Taylor Swift batter, was embroiled in a battery and theft case after his behaviour towards paparazzi at the LUX airport in LA.

This most recent brush with the law comes as Kanye West revealed that his fifth album ‘Good Ass Job’ is due to drop this summer.

The trial is due to begin in the US on 6 December.
