Kanye West is preparing a forty minute promo video for his forthcoming single ‘Runaway’.
Kanye West is working on another level. Bursting back from a spell in the wilderness, the rapper is currently oozing creativity with even his Twitter feed being more entertaining than most people’s albums.
Returning with a new single over the summer, the lavish video featured Kanye West surrounded by semi-naked women with the sword of Damocles dangling perilously over his head.
Always seeking to outdo his past endeavours, Kanye West has now hinted that his new video could be his most provocative statement to date.
The rapper has filmed a new video for ‘Runaway’ which runs to some forty minutes. Filmed in Prague last month, it manages to contain both wild fantasy and some revealing autobiographical details.
“It’s the story of a phoenix fallen to Earth and I make her my girlfriend,” he told NYMag. “And people discriminate against her and eventually she has to burn herself alive and go back to her world. I’ve been feeling the idea of the phoenix. It’s been in my heart for a while.”
Continuing, Kanye West reflected on last year’s events when he became a pariah figure after interrupting Taylor Swift at the MTV VMAs. “It’s maybe parallel to my career. I threw a Molotov cocktail on my career last year, in a way, and I had to come back as a better person.”
Fortunately for Kanye West he seems to be forgiven – the rapper was invited back to the ceremony on Monday (September 13th).
Recorded in Hawaii, Kanye West’s forthcoming album is set to be released in November. Due to be called ‘Good Ass Job’ the rapper later nixed this title, and is yet to confirm a new title.
Meanwhile, the rapper is continuing to release new material on his Twitter page. Taking place every Friday, the latest instalment is set to drop onto the internet tomorrow (September 17th).
