American hip hop giant Kanye West has been granted a delay to enter his plea after being accused of getting involved in an altercation with a photographer.
Kanye West released his latest album ‘808s And Heartbreak’ last year. A daring departure, it saw West forego his hugely successful rapping style in order to sing. The hip hop icon treated his voice with Autotune, a device that corrects any pitching errors.
The album divided fans, and was greeted with scorn by some of rap’s biggest players – yet six months on, Autotune has gathered popularity with many hip hop stars testing their vocal chords.
Kanye West is accused of being involved with an altercation with a photographer. West and his road manager are alleged to have smashed a photographer’s camera at a airport in Los Angeles last year.
Last month Kanye West was charged with counts of misdemeanour battery, grand theft and vandalism over the incident. However during a court hearing yesterday (April 13th) West’s lawyer was granted a delay in order to enter his plea.
The solicitor claimed she had not been given sufficient time to review the evidence. If convicted, West could be given a two and a half year jail sentence.
On a lighter note for the rap star, Diesel have announced they intend to launch a special Kanye West fragrance. Now you can wear Kanye West trainers, listening to his album whilst actually smelling like the bloke!
