Kanye West is set to release his new (and as yet untitled) studio album on November 22nd.
Kanye West likes to build things up. Why just release an ordinary studio album, when you can bait fans for weeks on end with new material, hinting at the sonic delights that lie just around the corner.
‘Good Ass Job’ was confirmed earlier this year, containing contributions from Jay-Z, Beyonce and Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon. Recorded at a mansion in Hawaii, it marked the lavish return of Kanye West.
Since then, however, the rapper has played it coy. ‘Good Ass Job’ was ditched as a potential title, while the hip hop icon refused to confirm a release date.
Now, though, the album is almost upon us. In a Tweet to fans Kanye West revealed that his upcoming album is set to drop next month. “We gone kill it again on November 22nd! Even with the leaks…” he said.
As a countdown to the official release, Kanye West had been releasing free material via his Twitter account. ‘G.O.O.D. Friday’ saw new music released as a free download every Friday, including some stellar guest stars.
Releasing new track ‘Christian Dior Flow’ on (October 1st) the rapper abruptly cancelled the series. Kanye West’s new album has partially leaked online, prompting the hip hop icon to stop the free download series.
Meanwhile, Kanye West appears in the new Duck Sauce video ‘Barbra Streisand’ which is apparently a tribute to the singer.
Kanye West will release his new album on November 22nd.
