Kaiser Chiefs will release new album ‘Kaiser Chiefs’ Easy Eighth’ on March 1st.
The Leeds indie giants are back, balancing the weight of their catalogue against the need to challenge themselves. Live shows are replete with those punchy feel-good anthems, with Kaiser Chiefs taking that energy into the studio on their new album.
Amir Amor was brought in to produce the band’s new album, adding different inflections and tones in the process. Building on 2019’s ‘Duck’, Kaiser Chiefs blend their innate pop sensibility with a fresh set of ideas, and some brand new guests.
Out on March 1st, ‘Kaiser Chiefs’ Easy Eighth’ gets under way on new single ‘Feeling Alright’ – with special guest Nile Rodgers.
A zesty piece of disco-fied pop music, it acts as a gateway into the record as a whole. On the band’s new single, Ricky Wilson explains…
“On the first day with Nile Rogers, he said ‘what have you got?’ We searched through some jams we had and this was a song that stood out to him. The band loved playing it round and round, and it must be fun to play but we never really knew where it would find a home. Nile turned out to be the best estate agent and found it a home almost immediately. He also brought in Amir, who turned out to be our housemate for the entire record. A good place to start!”
Tune in now.
