London alt-pop voice Kai Bosch returns with new single ‘Everything Is Beautiful’.
The songwriter’s ace EP ‘Love, Throw Me A Bone’ landed earlier this year, blending his passion for melody with some autobiographical insight. With a tendency towards self-deprecating humour, Kai presented a world in which love is sought, but proves difficult to find.
Recently packing out The Social, his joyous performance was topped off by an all-new song – and it’s out now.
‘Everything Is Beautiful’ lands in time for a mini-heatwave, and it’s a suitably uplifting piece of alt-pop sunshine. Lyrically, it’s about those spells when everything goes right – your love life picks up, and suddenly the clouds seem to part.
Kai Bosch comments…
‘Everything Is Beautiful’ is my first ever happy song! It’s about falling for my now-boyfriend over Hinge and even though we hadn’t been on a date yet (lol) I just felt that “when you know you know” feeling and it was unlike anything I’d experienced before.
I’ve always struggled writing happy songs because it’s so easy to be cliché or cheesy but when I was writing Everything Is Beautiful I didn’t really care because I was so blinded by how amazing I felt and that’s all I wanted to reflect. That really shows in the production too, I went into the studio with Duncan Mills and told him I just wanted to have fun and make music for my gay 14-year-old self that was addicted to ‘Primadonna’ by Marina and the Diamonds and cheap nail polish from Boots.
I’m so relieved that the man I wrote this song about actually ended up becoming my boyfriend, otherwise that would’ve been very embarrassing for me – but probably also quite on brand.
Tune in now.
Catch Kai Bosch at The Courtyard Theatre in London on November 22nd.
