Under Fainting By Numbers moniker
Fainting By Numbers

Justus Köhncke and Alexis Taylor are set to pair up as Fainting By Numbers for a new single.

Temporarily stepping away from Hot Chip, Alexis Taylor is embarking on some fascinating projects. A solo stint at Dalston's Jazz Quarters led to a new EP, while the singer also lends his plaintive tenor to Fimber Bravo's wonderful single 'The Way We Live Today'.

Now the vocalist has outlined plans for a new collaboration. German producer Justus Köhncke is set to team up with Alexis Taylor, with the pair utilising the Fainting By Numbers moniker.

Hooking up with Moshi Moshi, Fainting By Numbers will release their debut single on April 15th. It's a double A-side effort, with a cover of John Lennon's 'Watching The Wheels' being matched against the sublime synthetic soul of 'A Stone In The Ground'. Seemingly Justus Köhncke also contributes a remix, re-working the Lennon cover into 'Watching The Dub'.
