Julian Casablancas + The Voidz have shared new song ‘Prophecy Of The Dragon’.
The band last released an album in 2018, with ‘Virtue’ blending rock guitar, analogue synths, and some politically-motivated lyricism. Since then, the group have offered a short flurry of one-off songs, such as ‘Alien Crime Lord’ – shared via Grand Theft Auto – and their Mets salute ‘The Eternal Tao 2.0’.
Recently appearing on the 10 year anniversary edition of Daft Punk’s ‘Random Access Memories’, Julian Casablancas + The Voidz will play Primavera in Barcelona and Madrid and Best Kept Secret in the Netherlands this summer.
Alongside this, the band have reconvened for a new single. Out now, ‘Prophecy Of The Dragon’ has an 80s feel, with the wild guitars worthy of the Sunset Strip at its most debauched.
Julian Casablancas is at his brooding best, while the lush synths add colour and vitality. Could more music be on the horizon? Let’s hope so.
Tune in now.
