The Strokes singer Julian Casablancas makes a guest appearance in a new French perfume commercial.
Well, the long wait is over. It took The Strokes five years to cough up ‘Angles’ and it seems that the working process behind the new material was less than harmonious.
Currently touring around Europe and North America, the group recently revealed that they are planning to leap back into the studio. However Julian Casablancas took time out during the summer to shoot a new commercial.
French perfume Azarro obviously wanted a bit of rock ‘n’ roll attitude to launch their new range and decided to give The Strokes frontman a call. Shown playing a gig in front of a rabid crowd, Julian Casablancas then leaps into the front row and begins crowd-surfing.

Meanwhile, The Strokes have revealed that current writing sessions are going well. Bass player Nikolai Fraiture spoke to The Daily Star and described the sessions as being like “therapy in a marriage”.
“Some people are bringing in stuff, some are not. There aren’t so many finished songs but we have many parts. We try putting them together like puzzles and making them stick” Fraiture said.
“What we do on our own is not the same as what we do together. We’re in a good place as a band right now. I feel like I’m at therapy in a marriage.”
