Julian Casablancas Album Release Date

More details emerge

Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas has confirmed that his new solo album ‘Phrazes For The Young’ will be released on October 19th.

The Strokes may be quiet, but that doesn’t mean that the band members are silent. The New Yorkers have been taking a break since the release of ‘First Impressions Of Earth’ back in 2005, with the band launching a number of solo project.

Nikolai Fraiture records under the name ‘Nickel Eye’ with his folk inspired musings benefiting from contributions from Nick Zinner and Regina Spektor. However the Strokes solo bandwagon doesn’t stop there with Little Joy containing Nick Valesi.

Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr released a solo album last year, which closely recalled the tight new wave riffing of The Strokes. Singer Julian Casablancas was mysteriously silent, however, with only one collaboration with Santigold and Pharrell Williams to show for his efforts.

The singer returned to the studio earlier this year to work on his solo debut. Casablancas was joined by a host of musicians to work on new material, which he is set to release as the album ‘Phrazes For The Young’.

Little has been heard of the new album, with details being kept under lock and key. However the singer recently unveiled the artwork for the project, and has now revealed a few more tantalising details of the release.

‘Phrazes For The Young’ is set to be released in the UK on October 19th, according to a statement on Casablancas’ official website. The singer also claimed that the album would be available to pre-order on his website soon.

The Strokes’ singer could be set to return to the UK soon. In an interview with the NME Casablancas claimed he would be touring the nation in October.
