Mancunian hyphenate joshua epithet will release his debut album ‘Boys And Their Video Cameras’ on May 31st.
The stellar emerging talent caught our attention across a peerless run of alt-pop statements, a flurry of singles that sent the internet into overdrive. Debut album ‘Boys And Their Video Cameras’ lands this summer, and it finds joshua in full creative flow.
Out on May 31st, the omnivorous creator pushes himself to the limit, absorbing every sound he can grasp.
“I love that all of my music sounds really hungry, like I’m starving for attention,” he notes. “Something I really wanted to give off on this album was desperation for validation from any source, whether that was your family or your friends, but tell it through 1.) a struggling actor dealing with the media and how they’re perceived by the world, and 2.) A fan of the aforementioned star, living their life through the actor and pining for the same sort of admiration they offer to the actor but don’t receive in return. Why don’t they love me? Why DO they love me?”
New single ‘So, This Is Living’ is out now, and it dials back into his adolescence – a coming-of-age tale that speaks of teenage years spent over growing older and becoming someone else… only to reach adulthood underwhelmed by the rigours of maturity.
Discussing the single, joshua explains: “I was extremely confused yet so confident. Every sentence I spoke felt like it had to be the most important sentence I had ever said, nothing could ever meet my expectations…”
Tune in now.
