Josh T Pearson is set to release a new Christmas EP with re-packaged copies of his album ‘Last Of The Country Gentlemen’.
A songwriting talent thought lost to music, Josh T Pearson’s output had been restricted to the few hardy souls who clung to his work. Returning with minimal fanfare, new solo album ‘Last Of The Country Gentlemen’ was released to overwhelmingly positive reviews.
Since then, Josh T Pearson has been able to tour across Europe and North America, delivering some spell binding performances. With critics focussing on those pesky ‘End Of Year’ lists, Rough Trade have stepped in to name ‘Last Of The Country Gentlemen’ as their favourite album of 2011.
As a thank you, Josh T Pearson has arranged for the album to be re-packaged for an end of year release. The original album will be maintained, alongside a bonus EP of Christmas themed material.
The five track collection will be steeped in Christmas spirit, reflecting some of the religious themes – hope, redemption, eternal damnation – which thread through the parent album.
Recorded in London by Liam Watson, the EP will be packaged together with the album for release through Rough Trade shops. Available from November 21st, pre-orders are being taken for the new edition of ‘Last Of The Country Gentlemen’ now.
Rough Trade Shops ‘Albums of the Year’ launches at Rough Trade East on December 1st, with Josh T Pearson taking part in a Q&A session. Alongside this, a new exhibition of photographs charting the past decade in the singer’s career will be launched by legendary photographer Steve Gullick.
Meanwhile, Josh T Pearson is set to appear on a varied bill at the Barbican on November 26th. Part of an ongoing British tour, the shows open with a date in Manchester on November 21st.
Hitting Glasgow on November 22nd, the tour visits Leicester, Cardiff, Exeter and more. Finishing in London, tickets for all dates are on sale now.
