José González will soon be back on the road, announcing tour dates along with a new video.
With new album ‘Local Valley’ on the way (via City Slang, September 17th) José González has shared picturesque visuals to accompany ‘Visions’ a track from the coming record. Following the soothing theme of his previously shared lyric video for ‘El Invento’, José shares an enlightening glance at the impacts of humanity upon Earth.
Long term collaborator, Mikel Cee Karlsson, crafted the video with the consideration of climate change. Whilst a serious topic, Mikel has enabled the video to be tranquil with tones of optimism.
In a statement José says:
"Mikel Cee Karlsson is always in tune with the underlying thoughts of the lyrics. I like how he used the angle from above to look at our surroundings, both natural and man-made as the backdrop to the song which is directed to humanity as a whole. I also like the twist of a tool falling from space as a visualisation that we can’t always know what might happen next."
Before heading back out on the road José has online shows lined up. The first date - on June 10th - will be followed up with an interactive Q&A.
Check out 'Visions' below.
'Local Valley' will be released on September 17th.
