British singer-songwriter Jorja Smith has today announced the release of ‘falling or flying (reimagined)’.
The project was recorded with her long-time band in London and is a collection of re-worked, stripped back tracks taken from her critically-acclaimed 2023 album ‘falling or flying’. Her most complete and coherent body of work to date, in our review we wrote that “Smith continued to shirk commercial viability, stripping away sheen and artifice, presenting herself as dimensional; flawed, bruised, exposed, at times disbelieving, but ultimately worthy of love“.
After its release in September last year, the album earned Jorja a BRIT nomination in the ‘Best R&B’ category at the 2024 ceremony.
With the announce comes a revamped version of ‘Greatest Gift’. The original ska-inflected number is given an after-hours, jazz-tinged makeover. Listen below.
