Jordan Rakei Unveils Beautiful New Single ‘Flowers’

He’s also announced a night at the Royal Albert Hall…

Jordan Rakei has today shared his latest single ‘Flowers’.

The New Zealand-Australian artist has also revealed he’ll be performing at the Royal Albert Hall on October 1st 2024.

The song, which arrived via Decca and was premiered on BBC 6Music by Mary Anne Hobbs this morning, is accompanied by a cinematic music video shot in the wind and rain of some misty highland. The track – a ballad stretching to four and a half minutes and subtly nodding to Jordan’s roots soul and jazz – comes alive on its chorus, as his vocals soar over strings to confess the enlightening moment of meeting his wife. He’s a man infatuated, and he wants to shout about it.

Reflecting on today’s release, he said:

‘Flowers’ is an homage to the journey of my first love, the patience it requires, and the pivotal moment I met my wife. It reflects on our memories and tells the story of the comfort I feel in that relationship.

Jordan has built his career across one self-released and four studio recorded albums, as well as picking up a Grammy nomination for his work on Disclosure’s ‘Masterpiece’. ‘Flowers’ marks his first release since 2022’s ‘Bruises’ EP.

Tune in now.
